Me too - grew up under the severe abuse of my mother and completely absent father for most of my life. I know gaslighting from a thousand yards away when I see it. I also had a really bad hospital experience when docs gave me too much of a drug after surgery that almost killed me - I learned early on that docs and nurses and anyone in healthcare aren’t de-facto “heroes”....rather, they are human beings and they can, and do, make mistakes. Also like any other career... thar be good and thar he bad as the sailors’ say....
