The McMichaels are toast just on that interpretation of the citizen arrest law. Robert Barnes raised the same point I had about where the crimes may end and their inherent nature of repitition. He mentioned rapes not being able to be under citizen arrest purview once they end even though someone close to the victim should be able to do it and a rapist is likely to continue. Armed Robbery was a repeat criminal that had been suspected of repeat crimes. Exiting one scene allows him to enter another. The McMichaels should be free.

My liberal neighbor who is watching this courtroom proceedings who ALSO is a CNN & MSNBC watcher thinks these guys are guilty as hell.
Will not listen to anything I say. Will not acknowledge these guys legitimate reason for stopping the jogger and their right to prevent him from stealing that loaded shotgun.
