I bet the Delta workers who "voluntarily" took the shot are feeling duped right about now. The threat they used worked and now they drop the threat and claim they aren't using force. This is why anyone still holding out needs to hang in there and call their bluff!
They're still fining them a substantial amount for health insurance and forcing them to do testing each week. Don't act like Delta is doing things right. They just have a ghost mandate of implementing punitive measures which is another form of forcing it.
So not as bad as the other airlines, but nothing to praise them over.
Delta did, however, announce in August that it would increase health insurance premiums by $200 a month for staff who are not fully vaccinated by November 1.
It's not per week, it's per month. They are violating HIPAA and charging differential (employee portion) insurance rates on non-vaxxed. Note, they won't do this for smokers/nonsmokers. Years from now, they will quietly settle a class action lawsuit and pay back wages to these people who are taking the $200 a month option.
My point was Delta isn't the savior. Who cares about the details. When the guy is bashing your head in with a hammer are you interested in whether it's a 16 oz or 24 oz? Or if it is smooth faced or serrated? Delta is still a shit company. The best thing to do is drive. Don't fly anywhere if possible.
This line is especially important to hold. Even if it's "too late" for 90% of people who were tricked into getting it under threat of losing their jobs in the future, the line here will stop them from mandating it for passengers. I can't imagine how they would get away with a passenger mandate without having an employee mandate.

Arn't there innumerable ways to challenge that one on grounds of discrimination.
I know I know, we live in clown world where shoulds and supposed to be's don't work anymore.
I'm sorry, but "muh delta" variant dominates the news, and now "delta" is the first major airline/company to announce this?
o_O
I'm flying Delta from now on if they are an option. Vote with your wallet.
Don't they still charge unvaxxed $200/week or month to have them tested? Even though vaxxes can get and spread vivid too, but don't have to be tested?

Translation... We are not illegally violating our employees' rights opening up a litigation shit storm.
I wish they did get fired fuckers should be in prison for enforcing patriot act bullshit
Because they don't want to have a Southwest Airlines "weather event"?
