💯 we should be experiencing secular deflation. The demographics, globalization, technology, service orientation, all of it leads to deflation and yet here we are. Brrrrr print that money jpow lol

Anybody remember about 10-15 years ago there was a wealthy dude in Mexico that everyone thought was nuts because He was stockpiling aluminum? The guy had a literal compound in the middle of nowhere with aluminum blocks stacked for acres....

I'm too lazy to search for it right now, bit I'll be back with info later......

My point is there's no way there's a true shortage at all. Nope

They can orchestrate supply shocks but the free market is good at fixing the shocks. Yet, they create enough at the same time and perhaps it creates a price ladder increase —> price is stickier than supply —> inflation.
