My daily pleasure is telling 10 Indian email spammers to fuck off and die. All the Indian companies use automatic keyword detectors for resumes, these pull a candidate name from a scraped database. Then the incompetent and lazy recruiter does not read the resume, merely spams you with a totally inappropriate job req.
Mornings I do not answer the phone anymore, these fuckers in an offshore zone call at 7 AM. Some days as many as five calls before 9 AM. It's far worse for me than the auto warranty robo calls.
And the quality level of recruiters has been dropping a lot. ALL the female ones are wives of H1Bs. All the young Indians think they speak English. I have news for them. They're fucking INDIAN with a mouth full of curry who learned from an Indian with a mouth full of curry. /rant over.
The way this all works is, a shit agency buys an ATS service to automate the data labor, connects it to a stolen database, and then hires unskilled Indian labor to handle the phones and emails. The business is easy to set up and so this crap has been exploding exponentially. The use of ATS has become a plague like cockroaches.
Added: Since posting this comment I did research and I'd found that many (shoddy) agencies now use AI software and the 'recruiter' may not even exist. If you respond, it goes to offshore labor that pretends to be the fake recruiter. (The ones that don't respond I think are the ones doing the H1B / L1 scams. All that counts there is that they can prove to the govt they solicited for a job.) So they have automated spam employment emails to the level of robocalls.
Example: "You are receiving notifications from Spectraforce Technologies Inc via Arya, an AI product of Leoforce. "
I think you are quite right. It very much explains the instances where I did apply when it was an exact match, and then the recruiter never returns my emails, will not return phone calls, or lies when I get through and ask status.
Many of the agencies seem to be located in New Jersey half the time by the way. Are L1 scam runners prolific there, I wonder.
