Its a massive electromagnetic anomaly that appeared over Central Mexico, it was confirmed to not be due to radar error, but what exactly it was remains a mystery.
Could have even been some sort of strange solar-flare like emission or some sort of GCR, but no one knows, and the amount of shilling at the time seems to suggest it was something that the powers that be did not want us to know about.
I've yet to see any explanation of this other than someone speculating that since it appeared on 3 separate weather services, it is likely related to a single satellite that they get their info from...
