The reason people don’t believe in Bigfoot is not so much the lying and the cover-up that the government is doing, it’s the brainwashing they did to us in school.
They told us that all eye-witness accounts are just anecdotes and not to be believed. So when a close friend or family member tells you that they saw a UFO, Bigfoot or a ghost; you are supposed to laugh at them and call them an idiot. Or you might accuse your healthy, non-drug using friend or family member of experiencing sudden hallucinations.
We are taught to trust authority rather than our relatives. Example: Your grandfather is sitting there on his deathbed and at the last minute he says “Hey, I need to tell everyone something. 30 years ago while I was hunting I saw a bigfoot from 10 feet away. I never talked about it because I didn’t want to be laughed at.”
We were taught to assume that grandfather is either senile or just joking. That’s what everybody does with their last breath, just make up a stupid story to fuck with their kids, right? And besides his story is just an anecdote, right?
Here’s the thing, in a court of law, anecdotes are legal evidence. If you walk across the street and shoot your neighbor and two or three of your other neighbors witness that shooting, you are going to go to jail. Even if you manage get rid of the gun and gloves that you used, that witness testimony is enough to get you executed by the state. Even without photo or video evidence of your crime, those sworn “anecdotes” can convict you.
But when 10,000 people a year report UFOs, we are taught to reject or discount each and every one of those anecdotes.
Oh, but guess what, the U.S. Navy now says that UFOs are real. So, I guess that means at least a few of those thousands of people weren’t lying or wrong about what they saw, were they?
OK, so now how about those 30,000 people who have had Bigfoot encounters. Is each and everyone of those people lying or wrong?
If you answer “yes”, you’re just admitted that you’re fucking brainwashed.
Why are we waiting for authorities to tell us the truth about the world?
Talk to people and look around, the truth is out there.
None of this shows how Bigfoot would be real if the government admitted UFOs are real.
You’ve given me a simple denial yet you have no logical explanation for that denial. Let me show you why:
For years, the same arguments used to dismiss UFO witnesses are the exact same arguments that people are using to dismiss the thousands of Bigfoot witnesses every single year.
A person who claims to have a UFO or Bigfoot experience is not an expert witness and therefore they probably saw a bear or a shooting star.
A person who claims to see a UFO or a Bigfoot is lying in order to get attention or perhaps to write a book and earn money.
A person who claims to see a UFO or a Bigfoot has no hard evidence, all they have is an anecdotal story of their experience.
If the person has some physical evidence, that evidence is either of very poor quality (blurry photo or video) or they probably fabricated the evidence.
Again, these WERE the typical arguments used to dismiss 100% of UFO witnesses. These arguments ARE still being used to dismiss 100% of Bigfoot witnesses.
So, the fact that the US government is admitting that they don’t know what UFOs are is evidence that some of the people who witnessed the similar objects in the past we’re not lying.
Let me give you another chance to answer the question. Despite the fact that the US government is now bringing out information about UFOs do you believe that each and every non-military witness from the past was lying?
Yes or no?
If yes, then did the UFOs only arrive to earth about 10 years ago and have they only revealed themselves to the military? Is that what you believe?
If no, then you are admitting that some of the witnesses from the past did see unidentified flying objects of unknown origin. They were not lying or mistaken.
So now I want you to explain why we should believe some of the UFO witnesses but we should not believe any of the Bigfoot witnesses.
I want you to come up with a specific logical argument or explanation for why only 100% of Bigfoot witnesses are wrong or lying.
I’ve given you four typical arguments that people use. But if you can’t use those arguments against 100% of UFO witnesses then you can’t use those arguments against 100% of Bigfoot witnesses.
You have a false premise and your conclusion doesn't follow from your premises. For our purposes, UFOs being real means they are of extraterrestrial origin.
P1: Many people claim to have seen UFOs and are not believed. True
P2: Many people claim to have seen Bigfoot and are not believed. True
P3: The United States government says that UFOs are real. False
C1: If the United States government says that UFOs are real, then UFOs are real. False
C2: If UFOs are real, then the UFO sightings must be legitimate. False
C3: If the UFO sightings are legitimate, then the Bigfoot sightings must be legitimate. False
What happens when you apply this to other cryptozoological phenomena? You have just proved the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, mermaids, ghosts and chupacabras.
“For our purposes, UFOs being real means they are of extraterrestrial origin.”
No it doesn’t. Some of the UFOs could be from black projects and some of the others could be from extraterrestrials.
It is very likely that the black projects got intentional or unintentional help from extraterrestrials.
In fact, in my mind it makes more sense that secret research projects have been trying to reverse engineer extra terrestrial UFOs. It doesn’t make sense that a number of scattered independent and top secret research projects suddenly made great progress in revolutionary energy physics and aerospace engineering all on their own without help from the worlds greatest universities.
Now if you’re going to spend 10 minutes discrediting the reverse engineering stories at Area 51 from Bob Lazar, I’m glad to let you do that and label him a disinformation agent put out there to confuse the issue. However, disinformation does not discredit all the real information out there. In fact, disinformation is a clue that someone is trying to cover something up.
Sure. Sorry for misunderstanding your meaning of the word "real."
In any case, black projects don't prove Bigfoot's existence.
There's no reason to "discredit" most of the other stuff you wrote; it's interesting. I'd like to learn more about great leaps in certain technologies that coincide.
As for Lazar, all he needed was some evidence. Him lying wouldn't necessarily make him a disinformation agent, but there is a lot out there that does confuse the issue, and some of it is deliberate for sure. Not because they are necessarily covering up the existence of an extraterrestrial presence, but to simply have it an open question.
