I'd disagree on post partum depression. The body gradually increases feel good/painkilling neurotransmitters during pregnancy, so when the mother goes into labour she is naturally high enough to deal with the pain of child birth. Then the body goes back to normal levels of those neurotransmitters, which feels like withdrawal.
