This is true. There's many different strains of hpv and it's extremely common for people to have it and clear it without ever having any sign. I can't remember the exact percentage but it's a majority of adults that will have some strain of it at some point and probably never know. You have probably had it. Most strains are harmless and do not cause sores or warts or cancer.
One strain of it MIGHT cause cervical cancer, but even that strain gets cleared by most people without any issue.
But please, let's vaccinate every child with a vaccine that is much more likely to cause severe side effects than the virus is to cause cancer
