What makes you think it's not the opposite of that? Trump's long term stuff hurt us a lot. His good stuff was designed to be temporary.
DeSantis may have just signed something to block vaccine passports as quickly as possible but legislators put that in there for them. I don't like this line at all, but the vaccine passport is definitely coming soon and people are desperate to sign whatever can block it.
Basic reverse psychology for one side to gain support from artificial outrage. Trump was their sounding board. They could put out some of the craziest ideas out there by saying Trump could be against them even though Trump supports some of them. This is what got me thinking about how Trump was the one who could get them everything they could want and need. They get to propose more radical ideas and wash away the line in the sand that most people had.
The past five years have seen the biggest push for legalizing all forms of migration and support for statist and corporate interests.
The media will take whatever victory the left gets. There is a path here, like there was a path to global citizenship with DACA even though DACA didn't exactly pass as intended. The problem is that any small victory for them is absolutely in the right direction for them every single time, even if it appears good for us. This is why they cheered over Trump signing the ridiculous omnibus bill he said he wouldn't sign. They say we get what we need, but only a tiny fraction of what it was actually came our way and everything else gave them a huge boost.
