Obviously, crypto is also useful for other crimes and psyops than just heating up the planet

But it IS though. And crypto holders have severe cogntivie dissonance and don't WANT to believe that their cyrpto actiivty is going to become aprimary cause of climate change especially as it's adopted. Right now it has <1% market share (actually 40% of 1%); what happens when you change that to 100% adoption

BIg problem with proof-of-work algorithm based blockchains. Big problem.

They will have to consider banning POW in favor of consensus, but then it become replete with fraud. POW is largely fraud proof; consensus is not. but consensus is 1/1000 - 1/10000 of the energy

They will have to make a sophies choice, and i think it will be the central bankers and central governments making an executive decision to use the law to say "there will be only ONE crypto and it will be GLOBALCOIN or GALACTICOIN or GAIACOIN" -- something with a G in it. Or E (5). Something with a 5 or a 33 (C named coin like CurrencyCOin (CC) or CentralCoin or CapitolCoin) or a G
