The early days are certainly commendable but I get fuzzed with Dr. Morell and intravenous drugs use; sure he was told it was "vita-multin" but that was the end right there. IV Pervitin, panzerschokolade, who knows what.
Remember drug prohibition is a very recent thing. People used to just use the stuff and it wasn't a big deal. I wonder how much of the dangers of drugs we're told about are the typical misinformation and propaganda we see everywhere else. Like how people talk about the benefits of microdosing LSD, or doctors prescribing low dose opiates for pain, marijuana in it's entirety, etc.
