By publicly claiming the supply is coming from Iran, they were goading pro-Saudi factions in Iraq. Considering ongoing Iran–Saudi proxy conflicts, it's a bit surprising that said factions have not been involved already. -- Those factions were rumoured to have not yet. And what do you know, Saudi monarch just expressed their support for Palestinian and condemned Israeli actions in Jerusalem. Hm. I thought Saudi's aspect in the recent Arab detente was mostly a charade.
Mr. Ramez Al-Halabi, so called the PIJ Official, has been rumoured to be 'working' with Saudi-sponsored Palestinian factions. As we all know most Palestinians are Sunni Muslims, but I don't believe it has anything to do with religious affiliations. At the same time I can see no benefit Palestine would have achieved by disclosing they're being helped by Iran Shi'a.
(Because, as usual, Saudi do not want to get their bloody hands dirty in a formal way,) by overstressing the religious Sunni vs. Shi'a pretext here, Mr. Al-Halabi's advertisement on air may have been an attempt to provide pro-Saudi factions in Iraq with an 'official' excuse for coming out and participating in the current abomination in Jerusalem. Since Saudi king has 'officially' expressed the support for Palestinian, if Saudi-backed Iraqi factions (and/or any other Saudi-backed factions) join Israel's bombing, it wouldn't appear as KSA's doing.

yea, i don't buy this ^
question: why wouldn't saudi monarch expressed support for palestine and condemn israeli actions?
seems obvious that they would - nothing to do with "goading pro-Saudi factions in Iraq" ;)
