Oswald Spengler is relatively unknown compared to other 20th century philosophers, however he was right, and the current state of the world is the proof.
He observed that every culture and civilization(Egyptian, Babylonian, Chinese, Classical Antiquity, Western etc.) throughout history went through phases that are analogous to the seasons.
In the early 1900s he postulated that Western Civilization(which is not merely an extension of Greek and Roman antiquity as many historians like to pretend) was entering its Winter phase, which is when the civilization ends, usually violently, and a dark age follows with the birth of a new culture and civlization to follow.
How is this conspiratorial? The principle is not. Civilizations being born, growing, aging and dying is a self organized, emergent phenomenon. Like the universe and life itself, human civilizations are like a complex cellular automaton.

Why? Why is Oswald Spengler was right a forbidden phrase? You can find a few videos about his theories on youtube, but not many. Here's one that summarizes his theory, but the narrator goes off on a tangent about a new islamic culture arising. As someone who studies self organized emergent processes, i disagree with his conclusion. He doesn't take into account china, AI, and nukes.
Anyway, what an interesting topic to suppress right? If you were a tech overlord, you probably wouldn't want people to realize that their civilization isdying, and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it.
As for the death of civilizations, when Rome fell they didn't have the internet, a global economy, nukes, or anything remotely close to the destructive capability that exists for a dying nation to explode with.
We have reached a totally unique point in human history where the death of a single country(much less the whole civilization) can cause a war to make WW2 look mild by comparison.
Better to make everyone totally helpless and try to maintain an eternal status quo. Can't let the natural cycle that's almost finished actually come to fruition and begin again.
But here's the REALLY controversial aspect of all this...
There is another major reason that Spengler's observation is suppressed. The nature of the self organized phenomena that causes the death of a civilization is this:
In Spring, the intelligent and creative are needed. They build the culture and the infrastructure that allows everyone to survive.
In Summer, the culture goes beyond mere survival. Art and science form, the great original works of art and architecture are created. The intelligent and creative are celebrated and thanked.
In Autumn, the culture crystalizes into a civilization. Art becomes repetitious, creativity stagnates. The bounty and comfort that the intelligent and creative produced has allowed the unintelligent to reproduce and thrive. Corruption sets in and the intelligent and creative people are now the minority, no longer celebrated. They withdraw and become hermits or work for the benefit of others at their own expense.
In Winter, the stupid and brutal finally take over. Meritocracy is abolished entirely. The mindless mob is in control and it tears the civilization apart as it dies.
With the recent election of a man who can't form a coherent sentence, its fairly obvious who is in the majority. It is not the thinkers. Ignorance is glorified, intelligence ridiculed.
This is why Oswald Spengler was right is a banned phrase. Look at the kind of people who control big tech. Methhead lookin jack dorsey and a bunch of degenerates like him.
