I have a theory, but it need some time to outlet the arguments, but the shortest anwer is: They wanna hide the supreme being and put themselves as the supreme. It is all in the spiritual realm.

The highest God was put into the center by the Babylonians and by the Egyptians, hence for them the Sun is in the middle.
