Will not deny it. I am a newbie when it comes to forums.
I decided to engage my 18 year old for counsel. He does reddit for gaming.
Here is what I learned.
WHATEVER I post just drop it and leave it. DO NOT respond.
Leave my post for others to argue over. DO NOT engage the arguments.
Trolls are everywhere.
Trolls do one of two things.
A) They attack the OP and disregard the content or information in the post.
B) They insult or call the OP names if they don't agree with the OP.'s content.
Copy that.
Showed my reddit using son some comments.
His assessment? A lot of reddit trolls on this sight.
I will take his advice. Can teach this old dog new tricks.
I will simply drop posts with corresponding links.
I will let the readers on here argue it out.
This old dog learned some new tricks!
Thanks to my 18 year old son!
I am learning.
He's 18. I have been using reddit for 13 years, and before that Digg. Gaming Reddits are not the same as informational forums. Yes, there are trolls - but generally, trolls are everywhere, just looking to get a rise out of people. Just keep to the point, and only engage where you feel its going to benefit you. Just be a little more selfish when it comes to where you respond.
