Driving back to AZ through Southern California, I had to pee really bad, so wife took the he next freeway exit. We stopped at a hole in the wall donut shop and wife, paying customer, got a donut. I asked to use the restroom and was told they were out of order. Walked next door to a gas station, no restrooms (locked). Told I would gladly buy something. Denied. Out of order. Walked to the hotel next to that. Explained that I just needed to use the restroom. Wouldn’t even let me in the lobby. Walked next door to a Denny’s, refused to give me the door code. Explained that I just needed to pee and have been to 4 places near by. Drove to another gas station down the block, was denied again after saying I’d buy something. Really about to piss myself at this point. Have a complete mental breakdown in the parking lot in front of my wife. Was humiliated. Finally had to beg a Wing Stop to let me pee, like a subservient dog begging to be let outside. If it had been diarrhea I would have shit myself. I feel like a toddler. Was humiliating that a grown adult has to be denied basic bodily functions during a road trip. Today I was pushed to my breaking point and completely lost it. This entire ordeal has broken me. Dehumanized me.

That sucks! You are not alone or crazy. This bathroom thing is real. It’s like people forgot that pissing in a toilet and using the sink keeps us civilized. We can resort to other methods which demonstrates the razor thin edge we are really on.
We are living a nightmare that began decades ago. It feels like if we were to have our own citizen roundup our nation’s minds are primed to turn on one another in blind dehumanization. Notice that instead of punishing the anti (vaxx, science, Covid hoax) with wearing a star they reward the compliant with a passport. They did learn from history. Positive reinforcement. It works great in animal training , really effective until you run out of treats.
