Not trying to be critical, but I have noticed something on this forum.
A lot of people here simply do not know how to write, punctuate, or use proper words in the context of a sentence. Demonstrable proof that they are just not that smart.
Coupled with the fact that they seem to enjoy insulting and calling one names. Which is also demonstrable of immaturity.
I come from a generation that calls like it is. No sugar coating. If it quacks like a duck, waddles like a duck, then it is a duck. Simple logic and reasoning, which is in short supply on this forum.
That said, just how in the hell did we get here?
Intentional, structured dumbing down. Proof is there and I will share it with the reader.
Charlotte Iserbyt was Reagans' Senior Education Advisor. She knows a lot about the subject.
She wrote the book, "Deliberate Dumbing Down of America", and "Soviets In The Classroom".

John Taylor Gatto was a 30 year educator from the state of New York. He wrote the book, "Dumbing Us Down".
If this is not enough information, then there is Yuri Bezmenov. A KGB defector in the 70's.
He gave a chilling interview in 1984, of all years. Ironic.
His full interview can be found in the Youtube video, linked below.

Why did I post all of this?
Because stupider is not a word in the English language, but dumber is.
Get butt hurt by this post? Not my problem and none of my business.
Enjoy!
As parents of four we didn't. We augmented our children's public education with parental involvement. Our daughter became a published writer at the age of nine. All four graduated at the top of their respective classes.
Our daughter went to a private university on a full scholarship and is now being paid to work on her Masters in Library Administration.
Our oldest son was recruited by Annapolis. He chose to go because he wants to experience the military.
Our second oldest son went to culinary school with the aspirations to become a Michelin chef.
Our youngest just graduated a 4.0 and is still undecisive of what he wants to do.
We told him to take his time. He has his whole life ahead of him.
We taught our children how to write long hand and in cursive.
We taught them how to question everything and to critically think about information and issues they are confronted with.
Once the family unit became a two income household public schools became day care centers. A sad reality.
Public education has become public indoctrination.
