Network TV News were careful from the morning of 9/11 on not to air video of the first few seconds of the South Tower's collapse. The top half of the building started to topple to one side before magically changing its trajectory mid-air and plunging straight downward. The building beneath the point of plane impact exploded away symmetrically even though the falling half above it was coming down atilt.
The newscasters did not want us to see how oddly the tower fell in its first few seconds. They showed the final half of the collapse over and over and over.
