Bingo! According to a John Podesta email, Trump was #2 on a list of three "pied piper" candidates the DNC chose. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Ben Carson.

The stated objective for the DNC pied piper candidate was to move the Republican party to the extreme right in order to create a more polarized and divided electorate.

He obviously did his job.
