I remember reading about the Elan shit a year or two ago. The world has been so fucked up for decades but it was just compartmentalized. Now thanks to the internet people are connecting all the dots and realizing the whole society is fucked up and has been for a while.

The Elan tactic of shaming people by getting in their face and yelling at them makes me think of COVID mask Karens who lose their shit when someone is walking in a store without a mask. Its all about collective shame and using phony perceived authority to justify abuse.
