I think I see the problem here.
it's that you don't know how to read a line graph.
The y-axis label on the left is cases, y-axis on the right is deaths. Hopkins arcgis table shows the same 50k.
He's reading the graph right but missing the plot. It is around 50,000 cases, but it's fallen off a cliff from the previous high just two months ago.
So yeah, 0.015% of the population is currently getting sick/day but that's tiny. Million of people getting vaccinated, millions already had it without being tested, it's very unlikely to pick up again and you're extremely unlikely to get exposed if you aren't caring for sick family or something like that.
So 50000 new cases and 1500 deaths mean that covid is over? How exactly?
Well it never really started.
Look at flu charts over the years. Right now half the state if not more are red due to flu season. Right now all states are green. COVID = flu right now.
