It's sort of like battered wife syndrome. Your husband beats the shit of you every night when he gets home from work and all you do is tell your friends that you love him and hope that he changes because you've never known anything else.
Deep down, the Trump cultists know that he's a moron. They know he's corrupt. They know he and Epstein were more than just party buddies back in the 90s. They know these things but love and support him anyway because they're no different than a battered wife. Their entire identity is now tied up into the MAGA myth. The movement gives them purpose, despite the fact they're under constant abuse. Put on your make-up and cover those black eyes. Make every excuse in the world. We know that you didn't fall down. We know that he pushed you.
You can't fix that. You can't force someone to acknowledge the truth and walk away. That's something that they have to do on their own.
