I've seen many people use the word Democrats and Democratic interchangeably. Democratic "senator, governor, ect" is incorrect. All elected leaders in the USA are Democratic leaders because they were voted in... It's a form of government. The correct term is democrat leaders and Republican leaders to describe their political party affiliation.
Calling democrat leaders the "Democratic" is wrong and it assume that they are the only party who cherish a democratic form of government.
Also note that America is a Republic not a democracy.
True, Democrats want to push for a true democracy probably the reason why they keep saying they're the democratic candidates.
