I've been noticing this as I've traveled a fair amount over the past year and just today checked into what would normally be a decent corporate hotel but they are not providing a bunch of services and apparently can't even provide soap in the rooms "because of covid", also the hallway floor apparently can't be vacuumed either "because of covid". Also the rooms can only be cleaned by the staff every other day, "because of covid". Basically the average American is so dumbed down that they actually buy this nonsense when clearly they are trying to cut costs as much as humanly possible and don't give a fuck about covid since I'm pretty sure soap and vacuuming floors would be important if we were really worried about a disease.

I've been paying almost half a night what I would have paid in hotels pre-coronavirus. I know some hotels were being extra vigilant and blocking out rooms for a few days after someone checked out of them before giving them to someone else and that costs money too. These hotels are barely in business as they've had no-one in them and honestly if they don't bring back the cleaners they're going to have a hard time charging what they used to when the economy recovers as hotels can get really dirty really quickly. Also hotels don't want the liability of providing food. Most have been doing some to-go breakfast, but they suck ass.
