Terri Schiavo was lucid and capable of making her wishes known. Her nurses gave sworn affidavits testifying that she was not in a "vegetative state". They went ahead and murdered her, anyway. Not just murdered but slowly tortured to death by inanation. The left applauded.

Edit: Getting away with that proved they could get away with anything.
