Who was going to spend million more lives to stop the Soviets? America became the richest and most powerful nation by massive amounts by fueling and watching Europe destroy itself and then double down by implementing communism in even more of the continent. We in the US never declared war on Germany until they did to us, it was the English and French that did due to treaties. France got their ass kicked and the UK was on the ropes, becoming hopelessly indebted to the US and losing their empire. The USSR lost 14% of its population from the war, the US lost .32%
Binkov did an interesting "what if" about an allied invasion of the Soviet Union in 1945. It's pretty cool if you like alternate history: https://youtu.be/CMAkiURDoTE
There were plenty of people who wanted to invade Russia following WWII. The American appetite for War just wasn't there, particularly against an emerging world power. In fact, we did go to war with the Soviets, sort of, as the Cold War pretty much immediately kicked off after the Paris Peace Treaties. Instead of using bombs and guns, the US flooded cash into Europe to help repair the infrastructure and prop up democratic governments there. The spread of communism was very real, and the US leaders figured the best way to win hearts and minds was to spend spend spend. And it worked. Communist movements in France and Western Germany were snubbed out long before they could gain any legitimate foothold.
It's funny, because that's the strategy that China is using now. One of the primary reasons behind US international aid was, originally, to help stop the red scare.
Right, because communism won
That was the whole point of the war. The Germans and Japanese were just pawns.
The Hitler / Stalin false dichotomy is as bad as people arguing over whether Bush was better than Obama.
Just because one guy was worse in your opinion, doesn't make the other guy a saint.
They're each responsible for millions of deaths.
Do I believe the pretext for war? Of course not. It's almost always some made-up drama that the banks contrive to consolidate power.
It wasn't the banks.
Wow so insightful. Can't wait to read the rest of your thesis.
It is about a lot more than just money. That should be clear to you by now.
How wrong you are. It's completely about controlling the money supply.
Money is for chumps. They want much more than that. Money is simply a means.
