‘For many affected patients, brain function improves as they recover. But some are likely to face long-term disability, de Erausquin says.
‘"Even if the proportion, the rate, is not very high, the absolute number of people who will suffer these consequences is likely to be high," he says, because so many people have been infected.‘
Why is this funny? Well, it’s funny for them to still be getting away with such a load of bullshit.
Look up almost all Covid symptoms and you’ll find that they are shared with influenza, making this a flu-like illness.
“Type A influenza viruses closely related to the virus variants contemporarily in circulation were isolated from 12 of the lethal cases. In 10 of them, virus was demonstrated in organs other than respiratory, most often the brain. Influenza antigen was also demonstrated in brain tissue by immunofluorescence.” https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF01314671

I feeel like 90% of “long covid” (some of it is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic_fatigue_syndrome which can happen with other viral infections as well) are psychosomatic symptoms by young people unable to admit that their lives were destroyed for something that didn’t even cause any severe symptoms. It seems most of the people who claim to have “long covid” are young, very angry at people for who act rational when balancing risk taking fear and personal responsibility, and had minor symptoms when tested.
