If I had to guess, I'd suspect they are giving the FBI more time to find and arrest people at the capitol riots. We've already seen quite a few of them pin their legal defense on President Trump, including the Pelosi laptop thief and the Q Shaman.

That will probably be the most common defense. We might even see a few of them called before the Senate to testify as witnesses.

"Why did you storm the capitol?"

"Trump told me to!"

"Who told you to?"

"Trump did."

"See! Trump told them to."
