Basically it's a message the board posts explaining we haven't received any warrants;
"The warrant canary typically informs users that there has not been a court-issued subpoena as of a particular date. If the canary is not updated for the period specified by the host or if the warning is removed, users are to assume that the host has been served with such a subpoena. The intention is for a provider to warn users of the existence of a subpoena passively while possibly "technically" not violating a court order not to do so. "
Coal miners back in the day would take a canary (small bird) into the mines with them. If the canary died, they knew to evacuate due to gas build up displacing oxygen.
Website will sometimes have a "canary". If the "canary" is removed, it means the government has asked for information about users and they legally must comply. Basically saying the website is now working with law enforcement.
What's a canary.

Thanks! That's pretty smart. Basically have an image on the side, and if it's removed they can get the news out.
