In Norway there is thing called 'snillisme'(directly translated: nice'ism) and it is basically exactly what it sounds like and it's one of things where people feel they should but at the same time the also have a somewhat derogatory view of it.
What it basically means is that this limits what can be done in some ways because being seen as not being nice is considered a very bad thing, at least by the politicians.
Norwegians are famously stodgy in many ways as a common psychological trait, which also puts a dampener on the magnitude of change that the politicians can get away with.
Don't exactly have a positive view of Norwegian politicians but on the plus side, Norway is listed as one of the countries that are actively involved in the DS clean-up so whether or not that means that the shit is better or worse in Norway is sorta up in the air(my guess is that the barrier between good and bad politicians is much sharper here in the sense that the good ones are much more out of the loop in regard to the activities of the bad ones than is the case in many other countries)
Time will tell, only hope that the FSK is actively involved in operations and the things that are mission critical given their propensity to hand SEAL's their asses when up against them in exercises...(SAS stopped training against the FSK because it was bad for unit morale and cohesion...).
