Now, like TV and Hollywood, mainstream games fall in line with their narratives, so there is no need to scare parents anymore.
Actually, you can blame most of the DND hate in the 80s on the church. A book called the Fiend Folio was released with devils and demons as some of the monsters and the church lost it and said it was satanic.
