It's a term used for things that look very close to human but aren't, like a 3d model of a human. The lizard brain can tell deep down it isn't real, just very close, thus the uncanny valley effect.
It's basically come about in the age of CGI and robots and such.
It's why pixar animation is amazing, sand, animals, water, but peole have anime style eyes or unrealistic features, head shapes body shapes. People get weirded out when it looks to real and isn't.
Never heard of this uncanny valley so this makes little sense to me.
