I'm no fan of McConnell.
The house DID NOT pass a standalone bill for $1200 checks as Trump asked for in early October. Nancy Pelosi refused to bring anything to the table that didn't include garbage like nation wide ballot harvesting. The other huge point of contention was that Republicans wanted corporate liability protections and Democrats wanted state and local aid.
Pelosi refused to bring the $1.8 trillion offer from Mnuchin to the floor, and was chastised by Ro Khanna and Andrew Yang for not taking the compromise bill.
This offer that passed is half of what the executive branch offered in October. Pelosi said she was ok with doing it because Biden won the election.
The Republicans in the Senate and the House are able to introduce bills. Not a single one of them did that. Why didn't Trump pressure McConnell to introduce legislature for a standalone bill?
Mitch controls the Senate floor and is a giant cunt. Pelosi controls the house floor and is also a giant cunt.
Both need to go.
