These people aren't exactly the kind and helpful type and anyone that only cares about themselves can and will fuck over their own if it benefits them, so it is basically someone that misbehaved and this is the 'get in line or else' consequence enacted upon them by their own...
I mean if you start looking at the personalities and people that this happens to it starts to make sense as they are all the kind you might imagine not doing what they are told and instead doing what benefited them....
