Since supposedly apollo happened, no one has yet figured out a way to get past the Van Allen radiation belts. Interestingly, there's a couple weird things about that wikipedia article.
I'm pretty sure the part about the apollo missions in BS, and that radiation would be deadly to humans. There's many other great sources on this, the documentary American Moon covers this well.
It appears as though you would be able to avoid these belts by taking off from either the north or south poles. For some reason, this isn't discussed anywhere in the article. Which makes the fact that Antarctica is off limits to humans even more questionable. Perhaps it is possible to leave earth, but they're hiding it from us. But if that were true, why would they have faked the moon missions??

Antarctica has never been offlimits for humans. Spend a few minutes online and book a trip!
To me this is a Mandela Effect. I clearly remember it being off limits, but now - it never has been off limits. Anyone can go whenever they want.
