Recent studies highlight that some Australian cities have seen summers extend by over 30 days compared to mid-20th-century benchmarks.
Reason for Oversight: The island was difficult to distinguish from drifting icebergs in satellite imagery due to its ice cover. Additionally, historical maps placed its location roughly 1.15 miles (1.82 km) from its actual coordinates.
