Literally an attempt to rewrite history and play some mental gymnastics.

While some medical schools ask their graduates to abide by the Hippocratic Oath, others use a different pledge — or none at all. And in fact, although "first, do no harm" is attributed to the ancient Greek physician Hippocrates, it isn't a part of the Hippocratic Oath at all. It is actually from another of his works called Of the Epidemics.

See technically, it wasnt part of the original one bla bla.

The idea that doctors should, as a starting point, not harm their patients is an appealing one. But doesn't that set the bar rather low? Of course no physician should set out to do something that will only be accompanied by predictable and preventable harm. We don't need an ancient ancestor, however well-respected, or an oath to convince us of that!

But if physicians took "first, do no harm" literally, no one would have surgery, even if it was lifesaving. We might stop ordering mammograms, because they could lead to a biopsy for a non-cancerous lump. In fact, we might not even request blood tests — the pain, bruising, or bleeding required to draw blood are clearly avoidable harms.

I mean that assumes that the doctor actually cares, most of them dont, and thats by design. Especially canadas death system.

You got doctors getting paid 30$ a visit with 10,000 people to look after. Of course they are gonna suffer compassion fatigue. They simply cannot care for this many people, even if they were all completely healthy!

Compassion fatigue is an erosion of the ability to tolerate strong emotions and difficult stories, Mathieu explained. It can manifest as a desensitization to patients’ issues and difficulty engaging both at work and at home. It accumulates over time and can resemble post-traumatic stress disorder.

Yeah, just another excuse to just not give a fuck.

These people do not care about the hippocratic oath, or if they did, they dont anymore.

The college of physicians is the ones who control how many doctors go through the programs. They are intentionally destroying the system, proably so they can institute a two paid, two tier health system.

No ones held accountable when government idiots run the program, cant wait to see private companies gouging an doing whatever the fuck they want to the poors.

Godamn you shoulda seen the doctor and nurse and resident when I went to the endocrinologist and I told them I havent been able to work the last couple years since my phosphorous crashed out. Totally different demeanor.

Treating me like im fucking ricky from the trailer park boys looking for unemployment.
