Having the materials be molded instead of carved makes a lot of sense. It can explain the close fits between blocks.

Having the materials be molded instead of carved makes a lot of sense. It can explain the close fits between blocks. One issue though is, they didn't have plywood, which we commonly used for molds. How would they make large flat reusable boxes? Pits in the ground, to make the blocks then haul them up?
