I love this album: Boys for Pele.

It's a unique sound from Tory Amos and a complete departure from her usual pop nonsense.

She's never created anything like it since.

She released this album some time after being raped by a "fan" after performing a live gig.

Every second song shares a common theme: something bad is coming for you from the future and it doesn't matter how you run or hide, it will arrive and consume you.

Tory Amos plays most of the instruments herself on that album.


The first track is one of the most beautiful and minimalist openings I've ever herd.
