It happens with technology the bane of humanity. Every technological age causes it to become worse. No not everybody sees it. Some find changes to become better. There are winners and losers. Although undoubtedly freedoms erode and mankind becomes more enslaved. It loses humanity. Often with social justice it is always for somebody else. Human rights arent always individual rights, who asked the citizens, they are simply exploited into more dystopia. The minority becomes the majority. The clowns run the asylum. No sooner has a supercomputer gained complete control.

We have had a brief renaissance with computers and the internet and mass transit. The last 70 years after WW2. Numbers gained rapidly empowering greater numbers. Until those numbers are no longer needed for their wealth. They have no sooner become a threat. The wealth divide is at its highest in history. Where any advancement no longer has the resources to rapidly change systems without causing a population to implode.

Cycles age quick as time speeds up rapidly with advancing technology. But where our future is headed is much worse. Humanity peaked in the late 80s, 90s. It has been heading on rollercoaster somewhere much darker. Heralding the next age of advancement and its dystopia.

In answer to your synopsis. Look at what TV has done. Faster computers. Smartphones. The box has trapped you inside it. No sooner are you irrelevant.

TV replaced communities and has become the leading cause of loneliness and dementia. Prior to TV. What did people do. They didn't stare at a box. They were far more active in their communities. Until today the same box computer smart phone has robbed them of their health and sooner taken away their rights.

Every single advancing industrial technological revolution caused some of the darkest periods in human history before ever finding a sense of balance. How is it any different now.
