Well, I know this game under name of "Mafia" and hardly it was invented by Russian sociology student since I played it in school before 1986 when it was described by Dmitry Davidov who often mistakingly accounted as inventor today. He just get to know about it, found it interesting and wrote his paper.

And "mafia" (or "werewolves" as in video) are not always win. They have better chance of win only if their strategy is smart. It's not hard to defeat "mafia", really, if they are not paying much attention to their behaviour. F.e. if one "member of mafia" always stand for some person who revealed to be "member of mafia", or even never proposed to "kil"l him as "mafioso" before "citizens", then this member will be declared "mafia" in the first place next round. Well, more than enough real world examples of such "mafia" fuckups among elites.

You need to have a good memory, be attentive, use logic and do not believe anybody words to win as a "citizen".

This game is not a proof that "mafia" always win. It is a proof that "citizen" have to be smart, attentive and have critical thinking to "survive", even if "mafia" have an advantage of hiding information and making secret decisions.

Good game, I like it. Even now I gladly play it with friends on occasions, when there is many people and nothing to do.
