In my child's school if you were absent (9 times) or late too many times (counts as an absent if added together) they threaten to investigate the parent or fine them $500. While I do think it's nice to be on time being a few minutes late shouldn't mean you are fired, fined or investigated. I do believe there is intentional programming for the lower and middle class that makes them be subservient and then become enforcers of this themselves when they grow up.
