Back when I was trying to lose weight (about 15 years ago) I decided to see a local registered dietician. While she gave some helpful tips, I would lose track of how many times during a meeting she'd be pushing specifically Larabar, Clif bars and all this other sugar and crap laden "health" food like granola by specific vendors. Then would complain about my apple, banana and carrot consumption because they contain "too much sugar."
So, IMO, this is kind of not really new, but nobody's really ever brought exposure to it.
