I've observed over the decades how TV went from just a medium to serve you up to advertisers to a medium to control your brain, your values, what you think. I stopped watching programs for entertainment long ago because they were so terribly shallow and stupid. Some, like Family Guy, were blatantly, um semitic but in sneaky ways. Never forget who rules the industry and what the goals of their masters are.
Sports programming is just mass hypnosis these days. If you step back and just look at the parade of flashing images, it's all designed to put you in a trance really. As for the culture, it's mostly really just black warriors prancing. White guys minority.
So much has changed in the last two decades, I hardly recognize America. 20 years from now it will be a slave nation and none of the kids will know what it once was. TV sitcoms from the 50 and 60s will be unrecognizable to them. The entire post-war culture will be lost, gone away.
