OP in that thread doesn't really parse the checkerboard meaning, it's a reference to the supradimensional region where the 'jesters' reside (hence 'order of jesters'), even the masonic mental exercises admit this, their artwork with checkerboard/pillars/etc being a kind of astral/meditation map.

also, ever notice how both western cathedrals and arabic constructions have fractal designs? who taught the 'master masons' about fractals, complex load-channeling geometries ('let all who enter be a geometer'), and use of stereotomy in the design and representation of these structures? the same entities.
