i believe there is a container of some kind - implicitly, and edge or border exists where extra-dimentional forces are at play - so called "black holes" etc. seem to give is interesting glimpses of those edges... those bubbles in the ether, so to speak.

are you saying that beyond the known countries (australia, usa, etc.) that there is nothing but ocean... ? i mean.. as far as we know. maybe there are tribes of islands millions of miles away but... as far as we / you know... our countries are just a little clump of islands (aka continents) in an infinite ocean.
