It has to be. I hope u/cablez expands, but I have no doubt they do what they can to integrate their beliefs into the world to take and gain power without most knowing while they're robbed blind. Not only financially but spiritually.
The change in society is noticeable for anyone, well, old enough. The staring at phones, the need to communicate by screens, the drag of video games, TV, and smart screens everywhere. It's almost like the boiling pot analogy is wrong only in that there's not even heat to make someone wake up. If they ever realize they've been fooled it'd be too late.
Maybe the whole Club of Rome and 2030 plan was based on those who knew bulletin boards, dial up internet, the early years of cable and Gopher et. al. to be too old to do anything.
As the newer generations advance and the Dead Internet takes over where they can no longer find dissenting opinions easily, the game is won. It's all just consume, believe what you're told, don't critically think, consume, get new watch, buy car we can turn off, sorry you can't afford a house, we bought one you can rent.
On and on and on. I love paying fiat these days and watching perfectly educated youth take minutes to figure out what 97 cents is... I mean, my God.
