Why do you think going to school out of state is more prestigious, the farther from your family the better?
Why did most people take on massive debt to separate themselves from their families and whatever local culture they had left?
Why do corporations only hire people with degrees from institutions that required them to take on massive debt and move away from their families for 4+ years, likely marrying someone they met there who has no ties to their place of birth?
The goal is to replace local cultures with a rootless corporate culture that grows from public school and university indoctrination. It will use social credit scores and programmable money tied to your score. This is only feasible after local cultures and ethnic affiliations are mostly blended out.
