Wikipedia is blatant, malicious disinformation.

Always was.

PS: In Russia you wll not find a farmacy where would not be a lot of chamomile medicines, from essence to dried flowers, including creams, pills and other stuff.

Short quote from officially approved by Health Ministry datasheet for dried chamomile flowers:

Pharmacology

Tea from chamomile flowers have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and moderate antimicrobial action, reduces the processes of fermentation in the intestine, increases the secretion of the digestive glands.

Usage

Internally - in complex therapy for chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, chronic enteritis, chronic colitis, flatulence, intestinal cramps, diarrhea (diarrhea).

Externally - for rinsing with infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis).

It is full-value medical drug here, not even some folk medicine or "biologicaly active addition" (term used by snake-oil sellers here).

Always have chamomille flowers for tea and rinse against flu/cold/stomach things and ethanol chamomille essense for wounds and scratches at home.

Also very popular and official medicine in Eastern Europe.

Seems that soon it will be wise to create some site with list and datasheets of cheap conventional drugs used here translated to English. :)
